Helmet Rule:
All children under the age of 7 are required to wear a bike or approved ice hockey helmet. Power Play does not rent helmets or loan out helmets. Ice hockey helmets with a protective face cage is available for purchase in the pro shop.
Suggested Clothing:
All children should be dressed warmly; as the rink is a very cold environment and the beginners tend to spend alot of time on the surface. Parents should have all kids wear winter gloves, winter coat, socks, snow pants or two pairs of sweat pants and of course a helmet. The Pro Shop does sell winter gloves.
Tired of renting skates?
Want to buy your own?
The Pro shop is now selling beginner level figure and hockey skates for $50.00. We are offering the Infinity I-2 Ice Hockey Skate and the Reidell Yellow Ribbon Figure Skate, both get a free skate sharpening with purchase.
Parent Skate: $3.50 - Includes rentals -
One Session Parent Pass $20 for 7 weeks - See Lisa
Parents may skate in the practice area with their child during the child's practice time. We may limit your access during sold out sessions to ensure ample room for each child to skate. This does not include Public Skating times.
LEARN TO SKATE : Have fun while learning the fundamentals of ice skating. The Learn to Skate program is open to individuals of all ages, children thru adult. No previous skating experience is required. Helmets are mandatory for all children under seven and recommended for all beginners. Each class consists of a half hour group lesson and a half hour of a supervised practice session. The two sessions on Saturday have an hour and a half of ice due to the programs popularity. Students/Parent skates will only be able to skate for there assigned hour.
FYI: Arrive 20-minutes before your lesson and find out your instructors name before getting on the ice. See Lisa or the posted sheets.
FYI: Saturday's classes children 3-to-7 will have their lesson first then practice second, and 8-and-up will practice first and have their class second.
Note: Lisa Huth works Monday, Thursday and Friday office hours during the day. Please allow her time to return calls or emails.
